The photographs below are from a wedding I attended and photographed in Spain:
I am starting with several images I took pre-wedding. Below is the Al Hambra in Granada which consists of a beautiful assortment of moorish palaces.

Next, we move on to a common scene:

And now onto photographs from Andrew and Lyra’s wedding, in the mountains near Trevelez, which holds the distinction of being the highest town in Spain. Lyra and Andrew had many unique rituals and ceremonies which I tried to highlight in my photography.
Below is the hotel, which Andrew, Lyra and their guests took over for the weekend.

The ceremony started with Lyra stepping out onto her balcony on top of the hotel where she also danced with her father.

Lyra then met Andrew and they led a procession to their ceremony location, which was marked by a wall of sunflowers. The location was awe inspiring.

Every guest washed their hands in herbs and then picked up a block imprinted with the first letter of their name. On their way out, just before greeting Andrew and Lyra, the guests placed the blocks on a table to create a sculpture that Andrew and Lyra will keep as a reminder of the weekend.

After the ceremony, the guests gathered for dinner and a toast.

And there was plenty of dancing after the ceremony, but also flamenco performances throughout the weekend.
There were also two midnight ceremonies, one before the wedding, and one after. Andrew, Lyra, and their respective sisters carried torches and led everyone around the grounds:

And the second ceremony, which was my favorite, had guests light lanterns that would then rise into the sky and create a new constellation representing Andrew and Lyra’s union.
