As summer rolls around I will be baking less (got to stay cool). So I made one last pizza, and here is a photograph of the pizza dough:

Baking
Food in the snow
Whenever it snows in Richmond almost everything shuts down, which means I stay home, make food and photograph it: I tried my hands at pierogies with an un-pierogi like beet filling (they came out okay) and made more pizza. Pierogies come first, and this is a making-of photograph:
And next comes the pizza, topped with chicken, garlic, capers, bleu cheese and apricots. It was good, as long as you like strong flavors and bleu cheese:
Pizza Dinner
Well I am going to post what I have for dinner on a semi-regular basis. Part of the reason I like photographing food is because I enjoy preparing it, so I might as well show off what I prepare.
And last night I made pizza. I received a pizza stone for Christmas, and I am now trying to master making a pizza. The stone helps tremendously in creating great crust, but all my doughs are still hit and miss. The crust last night was not quite as elastic as I would have like, nor did it rise quite the way I would have liked, but it was still excellent.
One pizza had broccoli and bleu cheese, while the other had fresh mozzarella, olives and spinach.
I kept the photography of the pizza real simple for my first dinner-photo night (as I had just thought of this idea): one-strobe with no bounce or other light modifications. The lighting may be a little harsh for some, so next time I will prepare my setup beforehand and setup at least two lights.
