The Wild opening is tonight, starting at 7pm at Artworks. After Artworks, visit Crittenden Studio to view my plant series. Where is Artworks?

And Crittenden Studio is only 6 blocks away on W. 7th St.!
With Wild, I set out to explore the interaction between humans and nature. I searched for insights into the story of the built environment, nature’s resilience and fragility, and the changing role of different spaces in our society.
Initially inspired by Richmond’s Church Hill neighborhood, where neglected buildings covered with weeds sit next to historic buildings with manicured ivy and gardens, the project includes scenes from urban and rural spaces throughout Virginia and across the United States.
As it is the day of the opening, I have also decided to publish the show catalogue for purchase:

Here is a video from my time hanging photographs for Wild. It is on display now, with the opening reception this Friday, February 26th,2010 at Artworks.
I was just playing around with the video on my new 5D Mark II, and this is my first clip. It is completely unedited. The footage is of some tea—dragonwell green tea from China—brewing in a french press. I took this at Driade, a coffee, tea and cigar shop in Chapel Hill, NC.
Make sure you watch the video in 1080p!
I am going to be taking a lot of short clips so be on the lookout for more polished work (shot on a tripod!) in the near future.
Here is a photograph from a few weeks ago from Alamo BBQ. The cooks had some friends over when I showed up:

Alamo is a few blocks away from my place, and whenever I feel like barbeque (which is fairly often), I take a trip down there to pick up some food. I usually get the pork or brisket sandwich with a side of mac and cheese, cornbread or texas caviar. While I try to switch which sandwich I get every time I visit, the brisket toppings of onions and jalapenos make it very difficult to get anything else. That, and the brisket is delicious.
